Erika Tazawa currently serves as an artist faculty at the Arizona School for the Arts, where she teaches Advanced High School Piano program.

 Since her arrival to the U.S. in 2004, Erika has quickly gained recognition nationwide as a rising pianist of her generation. She has appeared in the Classical Pianists of the Future concert series (New York), followed by international radio broadcast of the performances. In 2010, she was selected to join the Chopin Bicentennial celebration tour, performing his works in collaboration with other pianists in the northeastern U.S.

Erika also regularly appears in chamber music concerts, often in collaboration with acclaimed instrumental soloists and members of Phoenix Symphony. Her performances have been featured on radio programs such as NPR’s Performance Today, BBC London, WSKG New York, and various stations throughout Japan.

Erika holds a Master’s degree in Piano Performance, Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance with a second concentration in Piano Pedagogy from the Crane School of Music at State University of New York-Potsdam, where she received tutorledge of world-renowned Paul Wyse.
