Bio: William Gerdes, founder and director of Scottsdale Piano Studio is an accomplished musician with 10 years teaching experience.
Some of William’s performance experience includes weddings, social events, churches and recitals. Over the past 25 years he has been a member of several bands and jazz and chorus ensembles.
William believes a good teacher must be able to teach his students two fundamental things: 1) To play with artistry to fully utilize the expressiveness and beauty of the instrument and 2) To play with relaxed efficient technique to avoid strain and injury. According to Chopin, artistry and technique were inseparable.
In order to advance steadily and consistently on the instrument one must practice with purposefulness, focus and efficiency. William teaches each of his students what this means and writes a clear, concise lesson plan that covers the fundamental components of the language of music: How to speak, read and write it.
William has long been involved in composition, songwriting and recording. Much of his work is done in his own recording studio. He has entered his compositions in several songwriting competitions including Billboard Music’s songwriting competition. His current project in the works is the completion of his own music CD.
William works as a freelance writer, arranger and recording engineer helping others produce various projects such as demos and backing tracks for auditions and performances. Being a capable musician and recording engineer, he is well versed in both the artistic and technological sides of music.
In addition to running a thriving piano and recording studio, William leads a fulfilling life as a husband, father, teacher and musician.

Ursula is formally the owner and director of the Ursula Cauffiel School of Music in Toledo, Ohio. She has taught hundreds of students from age 3 through seniors to play piano whether it be for their own fun and enjoyment or for a career in music. Students will be able to play songs within their first lesson. With Ursula's positive and caring approach to teaching students of all ages and abilities, students will be able to master many aspects of music. Students will be able to read notes, play tunes by ear, improvise, understand and write musical theory concepts and perform music whether it be popular or advanced classical. It is very important when seeking a teacher that the instructor is skilled in teaching. If a student is not taught correctly or efficiently how to play, habits can develop without the students knowledge. This can inhibit the student's ability to master the instrument. Kindness and patience from the teacher are paramount for the student's success. If a teacher is rude or impatient, often the student equates the behavior in thinking music is not for them. Learning to play piano is for you! Ursula will help you achieve your dreams.

I am 20 years old and I have been teaching piano for 5 rewarding years here in Mesa, AZ. Before starting my piano lessons I worked under my previous piano instructor who gave me pedagogy lessons. I have worked with a wide variety of beginning and intermediate students. Teaching someone who has never played the piano before is incredibly exciting for me because I get to introduce them to the wonderful world of the piano. At the same time, I thoroughly enjoy receiving students who have met that world and seek to learn more. Along with teaching technique and composition skills, I focus strongly on theory. I went through the Arizona theory program which has greatly benifited me. I am a member of the Desert Valley Music Teachers Association so my students have an oppurtunity to play in plenty of events if interested. I believe in giving everyone a chance to open their minds to the blessings that music can bring.
Feel free to contact me at (480) 381-4333 or at email@example.com

I keep a small piano studio so I have the opportunity to give highly personalized attention to every student, a max of 12 students. I feel it is important to have a strong, communicative relationship with the students and families, and maintain a constant dialogue to both help the student's growth and keep a strong and rewarding relationship with the family. I've been studying piano since I was 10, and teaching for more than 6 years. I studied under Ashley Bradford, and maintain a close professional relationship with her. I focus on a well-rounded education--technique, artistry, theory, personal creativity through improvisation or composition, and history at the appropriate age and level. Thanks again! Haley Schofield

I teach from my home which is conveniently located near Country Club & University in Mesa. I have lived most of my life in Mesa, Arizona and I love it here. I have been married for 5 years to the love of my life. We have 3 beautiful children. Music has always been an important part of my life. There are two women who have greatly influenced my love for music, and the development of my musical talents. The first is my grandmother. She gave me my first piano lesson when I was 5 years old and I was so excited! The second is the piano teacher that taught me through most of my youth. She always encouraged me to teach, and thanks to her inspiration, example and guidance I have finally taken the plunge! Although I have never played at Carnegie Hall, I have had the privilege to play for most of my adult life in various callings at church and as an accompanist for vocal and instrumental soloists and choirs. I am so grateful for the talent that I have been given, and would love to help you discover yours!

I understand that times are tough, and don't want money to prevent you or your child from discovering and developing your talents. My lesson rates are very affordable, and I am willing to consider trades in lieu of payment for lessons, so please, don't hesitate to contact me!

"I love playing the piano and love teaching it : )I was born and raised in Canada where I started lessons when I was 4 years old. I took lessons for 15 years thru a Conservatory called the Royal Conservatory of Canada. The RCC was an intense course which corresponded to our education system in the puplic schools. I completed my Royal Conservatory which includes both music theory and music history. I have over 21 years experience in music education, concentrating on keyboard skills, mastery of scales, duet playing, fundamentals of music theory and aural testing. My students range from pre-schoolers to adults. There are no two students alike, so recognizing that fact and not making the process into a race, I hope to develop an appreciation and a lifelong love of music. I hold annual recitals in my home for students and parents, which is always a delightful event.
I am classically trained (to the standards set by the Royal Schools of Music, London, UK) and encourage students to explore classical, jazz and popular genres. Exposing students to a world of music is my passion and joy.

I received my master's degree in Piano Performance from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 1986 and my bachelor's degree in Piano Performance from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1983.
EXPERIENCE - TEACHING
My first experience in teaching piano students began in 1983, and I have consistently taught since then. I was fortunate to be awarded a teaching assistantship in group piano during my study at the University of Illinois. In addition to teaching group piano to college music majors, part of the teaching assistantship involved giving private lessons to children and adults. Dr. James Lyke, who has written many books on teaching piano, was the professor who directed my teaching.
After receiving my master's degree, I returned to Madison. For the next six years I taught piano students in addition to maintaining a full-time office job. Early in 1993 I began teaching piano full-time. My lessons generally include the use of a method book, technic book and theory book. Students also work on piano solos in various styles, from classical to jazz and pop.
EXPERIENCE - PLAYING
I maintained my own level of playing by accompanying for University of Wisconsin-Madison music students. I played for violin, viola and cello students as well as clarinet and flute students and performed in numerous recitals. Teachers of some of these UW-Madison students include Vartan Manoogian, David Perry, Sally Chisholm, Tyrone Greive, Parry Karp, Uri Vardi, Linda Bartley and Stephanie Jutt.
I have been playing piano since 1992 and I have been teaching since 2004. I have my associates in Music. I also had worked in children's ministries for 3+ years. I enjoy teaching students of all ages and levels and try and make it an enjoyable experience while learning in the convenience of your own home.

Thank you for allowing me to introduce myself. I have had the privelege of being surrounded by music in my home since I was born. My music education began officially when I was four years old. I found that I also really related to dance through music and decided to purse a formal education where I incorporated dance also. I graduated from ASU in 2001 with a Bachelor of Fine Arts, Dance Studies with a minor in music. My thesis at this time was "Rhythmic Acuity in Young Dancers". Dance was therefore, in my opinion, only strengthened because of my strong foundation in music.
I have been teaching beginning keyboards since I was a teenager (piano and accordian). When I moved down to the Valley area, my teaching focused mainly on teaching group/private dance classes. I still currently teach dance today, but still have a strong passion for music. And I would like to increase my teaching opportunities by officially expanding into the music world.
My hope is that I am able to facilitate a love of music with each individual student. I am a technical teacher, where I feel that to properly develop the understanding of music a student needs to understand not only how to execute performing the piece, but why it is executed in a specific way and what everything means. These concepts are developed by using technique and theory. Having this foundation is essential to a music education. However, I like to make sure that my students are having fun and being allowed to find their own artistic voice. By instilling this strong foundation first, I have found that students enjoyment of music will be lifelong.
Hopefully we will be able to create beautiful music together! But if not, I hope that each student finds the best teacher to hone and develop their passion of music.

Hello Prospective Students of the Piano!
Welcome to THE PIANO STUDIO.
My philosophy is simple ..."we either have fun, or we don't do it"!
- I want my students to feel very comfortable about asking questions. I LOVE TO ANSWER QUESTIONS! because that's one of the main ways a student learns.
- I do not use one method, because everyone learns differently
- You will learn all the basics of note reading, counting, fingering, dynamics etc and much, much more
- At THE PIANO STUDIO you have several opportunities for Performance and I offer a special "SHARING TIME" for all students to meet students of their age group.
- I teach Classical music, however, I always incorporate pieces the student wants to learn.
I am very involved in the music world, attending conferences of all sorts throughout the US; I am a member of The National Guild of Piano Teachers. I also am a creator of Music-Related games. If you go to Facebook and put in my name, then drop down the arrow to THE PIANO STUDIO, you can read comments and see photos of the studio and waiting area.
THE PIANO STUDIO is located in PRESCOTT, AZ. I have taught ALL AGES (3 1/2 to 87 so far) and ALL SKILL LEVELS.
You may contact me to chat and ask questions. If interested, we then have an interview prior to signing up for lessons.
Looking forward to hearing from you!

I am a lifelong student and aspiring teacher of piano. Naturally, I am a huge proponent of the arts. Music in particular has been a huge part of my life from the time I learned to crawl, which usually meant that adults would either find me with a child's keyboard in tow or clambering my way up to my grandmother's piano bench. It wasn't until I moved to Arizona at the age of eight that I began taking formal piano lessons, but I and my piano have been virtually inseparable ever since.
During my college years, I tried my hand at teaching piano for the first time and found that I enjoyed working one-on-one with new students and sharing my passion for piano with others, regardless of age or experience. My senior thesis project, in fact, was dedicated to studying different learning styles, particularly students who are primarily visual learners as well as students who learn best by ear. My research consisted of teaching young adults different skills associated with these two styles (which is definitely better than sitting in a lab staring at a petri dish, in my opinion). Also during my college career, I participated as a piano teacher in Talent Match , a program begun by ASU's honors college in which college mentors were paired with underprivileged middle school students from the Phoenix Metro area.
Now that my college days are behind me, I am hard at work on the MTNA piano teacher certification process and eager for new teaching opportunities. I look forward to taking on several more students and introducing them to a hobby that became my lifelong passion.

I love the piano and I love children, so combining these two loves seems only natural. My forte is teaching young beginners -- even very young. I believe even the youngest learner can benefit from piano lessons. And although I am not completely adept at teaching special needs children, I welcome them as well as I hone my skills in that area. I charge $60 a month for weekly 30-minute lessons. Arrangements can also be made for group lessons at $50 a month for 45-minute lessons.
I look forward to meeting you and would feel honored to meet with your child at the piano.

Mark's formal training then began with Julian Burn, Israeli concert pianist and head of the Music Department at Cornell College of Mount Vernon, Iowa. As we work together at the piano to discover the beauty and power of music, we’ll be learning how to practice and develop the skills needed for musical success. It is this discipline over time that will give you results that you hope for!
Students are scheduled for individual weekly lessons (length generally determined by advancement) during the school year. Performance and evaluation opportunities are selected together at the beginning of the academic year. Some of the programs involve only the studio, while others are local or state-wide events. Joanna has been teaching piano in the valley for over 20 years. She offers comprehensive piano instruction including theory, technique, transposition and ear training. All students have the opportunity to perform in our spring recital in May.
Joanna welcomes beginners of all ages and levels. Her patience and encouragement make learning the piano an enjoyable and enriching experience for children as well as adults. Beginning adults with no previous background in music are encouraged to begin. They will learn familiar tunes at their first lesson and will play a repertoire of pieces in just a few weeks!
I have been playing the piano for over 20 years. I love music, and one of my primary goals is to get my students as excited about the power of music as I am. I write my own songs, love classical music, but also work a lot on ear training for those who want to play what they hear on the radio. I passed the AP Music theory test back in high school and since then theory has been a huge part of my life and I encourage my students to always keep their theory understanding at least equal to their playing ability. I have semi-annual recitals for my 10+ students, and am new to the Queen Creek area and am looking to grow my studio even more.

I have been teaching since 1959, and teach both children and adults. I teach more in a half hour than most teachers teach in an hour. I'm concise, thorough, and have many short cuts to learning which I've developed over the years.
I am extremely good with children, and they can't wait to come again the following week.
I teach on a Schimmel Grand Piano, which my students really enjoy. Give me a try, and you won't be disappointed. Call for references and fees.

I work in a small studio in East Mesa where we teach different instruments and ensembles. I attended Richard Strauss Konservatorium in Munich, Germany with emphasis on Church Music. My primary instruments were organ and piano with a strong secondary emphasis on choral conducting, voice and ensemble. I retired from 30 years in church music filling different positions in Germany, Michigan and mostly here in the East Valley. I have my own business now but enjoy teaching too much on order to give it up entirely. I like to instill in my students a love for music and the instrument they chose. A lot can be accomplished with dilligent practice and exercise and I am a relentless pursuer of perfection in a talented student. As they learn from me I also learn from them and together we can make music that comes from the heart.

Marlene began piano lessons at ten years old after her mother saw how she was drawn to her grandmother's piano. In elementary school, she began accompanying her father who played the Hawaiian guitar, and throughout her school years often accompanied church singing groups. She also learned to play the organ and the accordion.
After many years of volunteer piano and organ accompanying and leading kindergarten choirs, she began piano lessons again herself. In addition, she enrolled in the Levine School of Music in Washington, D. C. and earned a Diploma in Piano Pedagogy in 1999. She also earned an associate degree with a piano major from Northern Virginia Community College in 2007.
For 20 years Marlene has had a successful piano studio in Virginia where she has taught classical and sacred music to students age six through adult, beginners through intermediate. She has recently relocated to Arizona from Northern Virginia and has opened a studio in Surprise.

"I started teaching piano when I was 19 yers old. I began learning the piano at age 8 yrs old. I was an extemely quick learner and a great pianst, and applied myself to mastering it. The many things I've learned have qualified me to expertly teach. I took lessons until I was 19 years old and have kept advancing throughout my life, sometimes taking more lessons. I've played in many recitals and performed numerous times throughout my life. I used to play the accordian and even performed with the noted Milano's family of accordians in Mesa. I'm very practical in my teaching, and am especially good with children from young children to adults. I create a desire in my students to achieve and progress. Children and adults are drawn to me because of my personality. I make piano fun and the children really like taking lessons from me! I am very zealous towards the piano and the learning of it, because it has enriched my own life so much in so many ways. I teach some pop music (enough to keep the kids interested and for variety's sake) but I like classical because of what it teaches the student. I love piano and my enthusiasm and happiness towards the instrument creates a perfect learning situation. My home is a peaceful environment and a perfect learning situation. I also take the students through music theory covering many things such as scales, inversions, and chords etc. I teach one on one and find that to be the most effective way of teaching. I have been a sponsor of many musical recitals featuring some renowned piansts. If you give me the honor of teaching your child, I promise I will create a wonderful love of music in him or her!"

"HERE PIANO STUDENTS ARE STARS, taught to become lifelong musicians!"
"I LOVE teaching students of all ages, abilities, styles of music, and enjoy the challenges they present!" Gail says.
Experience: Twenty-five years experience teaching public school music and private piano at home studios in Florida, Maryland, Virginia and Arizona.
Education: Music Education degree, Indiana University of PA; Master of Education degree, College of William and Mary, Williamsburg, VA.
My major emphasis for the past twenty-five years has been teaching private piano, although my teaching experience includes classroom and instrumental music, directing choirs and bands. Students who need to have their playing skills corrected will have special attention. What many others view as problems, I see only challenges to be overcome and developed.
Students in my studio enjoy their lesson time at a completely restored and refurbished antique (built in 1903) Knabe parlor grand piano. A new Roland spinet offers each student opportunity to explore and/or play supplemental music with recorded orchestral music. Rhythm is enhanced by playing this way. A computer loaded with learning games helps the beginner with note learning, rhythm and musical terms.
A COMPLETE MUSIC LEARNING EXPERIENCE is possible at Mountainview Music Studio with an experienced teacher who loves her job of teaching. Students become lifelong musicians as STARS in this studio, respected and taught well!

Kia Portafekas is a musician, composer and teacher. She is a graduate of Queens College, (Aaron Copland School of Music), Mannes Conservatory and the High School of Music and Art, NYC.
Kia traveled throughout Europe and the Far East working musically with children. Her continued work with children and method of teaching lead her to the discovery that children need to be "heard" as well as seen. This realization inspired the creation of "KIA'S KIDS".
"KIA'S KIDS" created, directed and co-produced by Kia is a compilation audio cassette of original songs composed by her students on piano and synthesizer, ages 7 to 12 years old. A documentary film has also been released for promotional purposes portraying Kia teaching her students how to compose their own original compositions through colors, movement, sounds, and improvisation.
"KIA'S KIDS" realizes the natural abilities in children through improvisation and spontaneity. Her students performed and recorded their music on a video with actress Kathleen Turner for a benefit concert at Carnegie Hall. They have also performed at East Coast Art Theater, Lincoln Center and other theaters in New York. Kia has written, "Making Music With Your Child," co-authored with Karen E. Marlow. This is a first book which gives parents and teachers, regardless of their musical backgrounds, successful techniques for teaching music composition to young children. The creative skills and self-expression which result bring countless benefits to the children and their teachers, in every area of their lives. "Making Music With Your Child," is published by MMB Music, Inc. and funded in part by a grant from the National Academy of Recording Arts and Sciences. Kia has appeared on Channel 5, "Arizona News," and Channel 3, "Good Morning Arizona" and "The Tonya Mock Show." She directed and produced a "Kids for Kids" Benefit Concert at the Scottsdale Center for the Arts which featured her students performing their own compositions, the Phoenix Boys Choir and Sheryl Cooper's Destiny Dance Intl'. She has presented workshops at the Arizona Music Educators Conference, Home Educator's Curriculum Event, ASU Professional Development Workshops for Teachers-Partners in Education with JFK Center of the Arts, Kidspace Museum with the Pasadena Symphony in California.
KIA'S CREATIVE MUSIC STUDIO is a place to experience the enjoyment of all styles of "Music, Imagination and Creativity." Piano, keyboard and synthesizer lessons are offered, ages 5 to adult. To schedule private lessons, workshops and presentations, contact Kia via email.

I have taught piano for 25 years. My students perform at least three times during the school year. I really focus on Music Theory, with the idea of giving my students skills to test out of Music Theory Classes in College. I really enjoy my students and my main goal is to help them love and enjoy creating beautiful music. I do a lot of incentives in my studio to encourage daily practice. Still, at each lesson, my goal is to get the best I can from them, even if they have had a busy week and not done much practice.

Doctoral Candidate in Piano Performance at ASU. Masters Degree from Indiana University and Bachelors from Brigham Young University, both in Piano Performance.
Mesa, AZ 85204
I am a skilled private voice, piano, and french horn teacher. I graduate from ASU in Music Education with an emphasis on voice, with french horn as my second enstrument. I am also an accomplished pianist, having taken lessons for 10 years and have taught for 8 years. The progression found in my students is dramatic from one recital to the next. Skill, musicianship, theory, sight-reading, and technique are all elements found in her private studio lessons. Besides teaching, I sing professionally with her two sisters in a group called The Kidmans. We have 3 albums recorded that can be found at www.thekidmans.com and cdbaby.com. I also taught choir at Gilbert High School for 5 years before deciding to teach private lessons full time. I currently plays the French Horn for the EVMCO orchestra.
Private lessons are taught out of my home with the choice of 30 minutes or 1 hour lessons. Lessons are weekly with recitals 3 times a year to give performing and stage skills to all musictians. Recitals are just as educational and important for a musician as the music lessons themselves are. My students range in age from 6 yrs. thru adult.
After teaching private piano lessons for over a decade, I started a group piano studio four years ago using the Mayron Cole group piano method. My students have thrived! Students love the fun atmosphere of learning with their peers & learning through games. Parents love the added motivation their child feels to practice so they'll be ready to play with the class at their next lesson. Group students typically become more rhythmically solid because they have to play in an ensemble setting weekly. Classes start at the preschool level & run up into beginning advanced students.

I have been teaching piano and violin lessons in my home for the past 14 years to children and adults. I teach lessons Monday-Friday from 3:30-5:30 p.m. I keep my studio size between 10-15 students and I hold recitals twice a year in the Fall and Spring. Through my referral program, the first lesson for new students is always free and existing students earn a free lesson with each referral! I frequently help in church with special musical numbers on the piano and violin. I have also recently learned how to play the organ.

I teach students (any and all ages) music in a way that reaches them and instills a lifelong love of music. I adapt lessons to the student's individual needs and learning styles. Working with the student, I help them understand where we’re going in lessons and why we’re covering the things we’re covering. I help my students set goals, explaining what the goals will do for their overall playing. While I will not deny that to learn music takes discipline and commitment, I believe music needs to be fun; so I have prizes, rewards, and incentives for achievement (long-term and short-term) to motivate, inspire, and nurture my students. I also give lots of varied performance opportunities throughout the year to spice things up and remind them why they want to learn music. I also help students prepare to play at church functions, Regional and All-state auditions, Metropolitan Youth Symphony, East Valley Youth Symphony, Phoenix Youth Guild, Mesa Youth Orchestra, Mesa Young People's Orchestra, school orchestras, school choirs, school bands, and school jazz bands, etc. (All these activities promote learning in my studio.)

I've been teaching private piano lessons for over 13 years now, and I just love my students. I earned my Bachelor's degree in Piano Performance in 2005, and I teach ages 5 to adult, beginners to advanced.

I currently have openings on Monday afternoons from 1PM-5PM, and all weekday mornings from 10AM to 1PM to accommodate home-schooled students and others who are not in school during those hours.
Lessons are given weekly, and are $25 per half hour, $45 for a full hour. Discounts available for two or more students--contact for details. Students are responsible for the cost of books.
Please feel free to email, call/text, or check out my website for more information. I look forward to hearing from you.

I have taught since I was an adaolescent and have enjoyed the smiles I get everytime a new student understands what I'm trying to teach them, it's piriceless. I start teaching at a very young age, 3-4(sometimes younger) and we work out very simple tules and tricks that make it much easier for little hands to be able to glide accross the keys of a pinao. I always go with a pace the student is comfortable with, never too quickly. I have stickers and prizes and if a student completes theri assigned practice time each day during the week then I have little prizes that I give out. It's a very fun, but yet structoraled environment. Once about every 4 weeks I do a groud lesson where all the student ge together and basicaly showed what they have learned I teach them somethig new with worksheet or props to help them vusually understand a little better, We really have a great time and I'm hoping that you don't miss out on it either!

I love teaching children and adults. I've taught for about 40 years. My degree is in elementary education with a minor in music. For eight years I enrolled in one or two-week Summer Piano Pedagogy Courses at various colleges and universities, such as Baldwin Wallace College & Capitol University in Ohio & North Western University in Illinois. I have also taken shorter 1 to 3-day workshops and Master Classes with such wonderful teachers as Amanda Vick Lethco, Dennis Alexander, Jean Weisman and Nancy Bachus. I am a certified teacher of Kindermusik and the Mayron Cole Group Piano Method. I have focused heavily on beginning instruction because I believe a firm foundation is fundamental to future success.
I served several years as the Akron, Ohio Chairman for the National Guild of Piano Teachers. All of my students entered annually. The Guild frowns upon publishing student ratings so I will only say I was pleased with all of my students. I also served as a judge for the National Federation of Piano Teachers. Most of my performance experience is as an accompanist for soloists and small professional vocal or instrumental groups.
When we moved to Gilbert in 1996, I became an active member of Desert Valley Music Teachers Association. All of my students participated in a minimum of two annual events, most entered 3 or more and several entered all the events. Over the past 8 years it has become difficult for me to manage being out and about without assistance with things that aren't convenient for me to manage alone. I miss my association with the many wonderful teachers I met at DVMTA.
I emphasize theory, ear training, sight-reading, transposing using movable "do", some composition and improvising, technique, playing musically with feeling, ensemble playing and performance etiquette and confidence. I teach students how to practice effectively. I have one formal recital a year along with student recitals and other performance opportunities.
Though I've been semi-retired, today's economy has me building my studio again. I have a few openings after school and in the mornings before school. Daytime lessons are available for Adults and Home School Students. I do not teach in the evenings. All lessons are in my Gilbert home.

My name is Angie Chesley and I have been teaching piano and voice for the past 14 years, both at The Music Store and in my private home studio.
I enjoy teaching students of all ages and love to watch them succeed. My philosophy is that music should be enjoyable as well as educational. I focus on the technical aspects of learning music, but I feel that it is very important that the student enjoy the music that they are creating.
My love of music and the arts began very early in my life as I watched my Father play the piano and sing professionally with various bands. When I was older I performed regularly with my Father in Nashville, TN near the Grand Old Opry at Shoney’s Inn and other venues. I grew up taking weekly piano lessons from my Grandmother who was a music teacher in demand, and dancing with the dance company where my Mother was a dance teacher.
In High School I performed with the top choirs and was one of the accompanists for the choirs. I attended BYU-Idaho where I was a music major and accompanied singers as well as sang in the choirs. I have also been in many Broadway productions as a soloist, in the chorus, and in the dance team.
I have been singing professionally with the band “The Swingtips” for many years and have sung on many of their CD’s. I am also a veteran in the recording studio and have done many professional recordings as a singer.
In recent years I have developed a love for jazz piano and have studied for the past 6 years with Steve Culp who is a professional jazz pianist and is a member of the band “Turning Point”, and with Barb Catlin who is also a professional jazz pianist and is the head of the Jazz Department as Mesa Community College. I have had the opportunity to perform professionally with the MCC jazz combo at the Tempe Arts Festival and look forward to many more performing opportunities.
I am currently finishing my music education degree with Ottawa University and plan to continue with my masters.
I am the mother of 2 wonderful boys ages 12 and 5 and love to share my love of the arts with my boys.
Studio consists of 30 students currently. Accepting adults and children. Studio located in Estrella Mountain Ranch in Goodyear.

Angelica M. Prado-Stern, raised in Miami, Florida, started taking lessons at age 7. She studied piano through grade school and like most young pianists, aspired to be a musician. She moved to Tucson, AZ in 1987 to pursue her music studies. In 1990, she was awarded an accompanying scholarship to Northern Arizona University, where she earned a Bachelor in Piano Performance and gained teaching experience through the Preparatory School of Music. During her Prep School experience, Angelica discovered her strong interest in teaching. Upon her graduation in 1994, she moved to Phoenix and joined the faculty at Music Works Academy, where she worked for 10 years. During her time at Music Works Academy, she taught on average 55 students per week, and gained experience in teaching a variety of ages and skill levels, managing and maintaining a private music studio, and developing student curriculums. In 2005, Angelica received her Masters in Educational Psychology from Arizona State University, where she focused on learning through the lifespan and self-regulation as it applies to piano instruction, and in 2008 earned her certification of National Certified Teacher of Music from The Music Teacher's National Association. She opened her private piano studio in 2005. Tabitha Kaminski was born and raised in Buffalo, NY. She has been classically trained in piano since the age of 9. During her beginner years, Tabitha studied piano and theory with pedagogue Mary Lou Edgecomb, and later transferred to her sister, concert pianist and music director, Annette Masterson, to study piano performance. In high school, Tabitha had the honor of studying under Dr. Gary Fisher at The Eastman School of Music and at Nazareth College in Rochester, NY. During this time, she performed and competed extensively throughout Western NY, gave concerts at local churches and retirement homes, and was a special guest on Tri-State Christian Television's live show "Celebrate," where she performed an original composition.
When Tabitha began teaching at the young age of 15, she immediately fell in love with it as a career. After moving to Arizona to attend college, she continued giving piano lessons in students' homes throughout the Phoenix metro area. During this time, she met her future husband, Mike Kaminski, who was a keyboardist in a local Christian rock band. After 2 years of college-level training in classical piano performance, she took some time off from school to get married and focus on teaching fulltime.
A year later, Tabitha and Mike founded KaminsKEYS Piano Studio (now called East Valley School of Music) and quickly grew the business from 20 students to 60 students in less than 2 years. During this time, they also became actively involved in the East Valley Music Teachers Association, participating and chairing various local events throughout the year. In the fall of 2008, Tabitha became a Nationally Certified Teacher of Music (NCTM) through the Music Teachers National Association.
During the past years, Tabitha has been privileged to study under the tutelage of Dr. Judy Lively, Dr. Andrea Fennig, Dr. Walter Cosand, Professor Ashley Bradford, and Professor Ruth Yandell. She is currently finishing her Bachelor's Degree in Piano Performance at Grand Canyon University under the instruction of Dr. Juan Hernandez, and is set to graduate in the spring of 2012.

I finished my Doctor of Musical Art degree at ASU, Masters, and Bachelor of Music degrees in my native country Serbia. During my career, I have played a number of solo and chamber recitals and recorded a CD of Marko Tajcevic's piano music. As a member of MTNA association, I have been selected to judge a variety of competitions, earned a NCTM certification, and presented on meetings and conferences. Currently, I am teaching at MCC, ASU and in My First Piano .
My students are trained in classical style, based on Russian piano school I have received from my teachers. Recitals, group lessons, and competitions are part of the curriculum. I recommend that all of them participate in yearly ASP examinations.
I am looking for new, mainly home schooled students available for morning and early afternoon lessons. Some evening lessons possible as well.

I am an advanced pianist and have been a professional accompanist.
I have ten years experience teaching piano. I take all levels, beginning, intermediate and advanced. My studio currently has about twenty students and I’m looking to expand to around thirty. I have all ages from four years to adult. My goal for each of my students is to prepare them to be able to audition and gain entrance into a university piano program and major in music if they so desire. I studied music on scholarship at Northern Arizona University for three years and double majored in music education and performance. While there I made extra money accompanying the other music students for their recitals. Before I finished my degree I got married, switched schools, and ended up getting my degree in Early Childhood Education.
I have an excellent program that has proven very successful. I combine a traditional piano method with Suzuki. The focus is on being a well rounded practical pianist. In other words they should be able to read notes and sight read well. In addition to that we also work on ear training.
I have two recitals a year. The students pick out their own songs for these recitals. They love getting to learn this ‘fun’ song and helps to motivate them to practice.
